Bells are used symbolically by the dharma traditions of Buddhism, Jainism and Hinduism. The ritual hand bell symbolizes the feminine principle, the wisdom of emptiness. The accompanying dorje, also called a vajra, is the symbol of spiritual authority of the peaceful deities.
The Bell is usually held in the left hand and the Dorje in the right. To get the Bell to resonate, the Dorje has to be swirled through the inner surface of the Bell. Using the right angle gives the optimum sound from the bell. Carved wooden mallet included.
Measurements:
- Bell is 5 inches
